7 Unique Things To Do In Las Vegas That You Have To Try
Las Vegas or popularly known as the boulder city is known for it’s casinos, pubbing, drinking and crazy life and that’s why my hubby actually decided that it was not on his list of priorities to visit it. He was so wrong, this city has something for everyone. If you like drinking, gambling and pubbing, there is no doubt this is your city but if you are an adventure seeker, love experiences that are exotic, love cars, are a theatre buff or a foodie. This is a place to head to because you will get nothing but the best in the world here. The city appears in the middle of nowhere, yes it’s really like the paradise in a desert. I am a slot machine kind of person and Vegas has been on my list forever but that had a little charm for me as I had already had my taste of it, at Macau and Singapore and played my heart out. So what were the things that charmed about Vegas?
7 Unique Things To Do In Las Vegas That You Have To Try ;
Helicopter ride to the Grand Canyon: This is one of the most exotic experiences I have had and would totally recommend it. I knew Grand Canyon was close to Vegas but I was on a very short trip (two nights to be precise), so when someone told me that I could go there on a short helicopter ride, I was more than thrilled. After reading many reviews and friend’s recommendations I chose Papillon Helicopters and loved it. It was a short drive of 3o minutes to the Grand Canyon and a champagne bottle along with a picnic lunch was shared. I was mesmerised and tried drinking in all of it remembering all the great stories that I had read about the Grand Canyon. The experience cost me around 380 dollars, slightly on the expensive side but totally worth it. Read more about this experience here.
The Cirque du Soleil or the ‘O’ Show: This is one of the most sought after show in Vegas and now I know why. Every time I told someone that I am headed to Vegas they told me to book the ‘O’ show and it cost me a good 200 dollars for a good seat but trust me it was worth it.It’s a water show with mostly acrobats, synchronized swimming and some ground acts. The clowns were hilarious but took a lot of the show time. The fire show with a man burning the entire time was awesome and the contortionist doing all kinds of movements towards the end was incredible. It’s amazing how a 1.5 hours show without any dialogues can keep the audience enraptured till the end.
24×7 Casinos: Well this is a no-brainer! If you like gambling you have the roulette, blackjack, and various tables to head to and either make history or go down. If you are a slot machine person like me who would just play small and lose small you can still spend the whole night there. Did you know that these run 24×7 and possibly in every hotel in Vegas. Infact, there were casinos at the airport too. They will tempt you till the end. I have heard they even pump oxygen in your system to keep you awake through the night but I guess I didn’t need it as I slept for only 2 hours in 2 days of my being in Vegas. I was high on life and so excited.
Vegas strip in a Limo: Renting a limousine might cost you and arm and a leg anywhere in the world but here in Vegas you can get one for almost a 100 dollars. The only reason I skipped it was the Vegas traffic which reminded me of Mumbai. But then we have to leave something for your next trip, right?
Dine in the sky: I had heard about this restaurant where they strap you to your seats and then suspend the entire dinner table in the air. You can catch the views of the entire Vegas strip while having this unique dinner experience. I had no idea that this was in Vegas and now it’s on my bucket list for my next visit. There is just so much you can do in a day’s time ;).
Need for speed: If you love speed and cars, here is Vegas you can book any supercar of your choice and get to drive it for as low as 99 dollars, lower than anywhere in the world.
Rides at the Stratosphere: The needle hotel or Stratosphere is famous for it’s rides that are at the top of the Stratosphere Tower, over 900 feet high. The four extreme thrill rides are The SkyJump, the Big Shot, the X Scream, and Insanity. They are crazy, fun and must do. I did not manage to do this, but it is on my list as you can see. Can you spot me in the picture?
I have just touched the tip of the iceberg when it comes to experiences that you can have at Vegas. So if you are planning a trip to the US, I would highly recommend to add Vegas to the list and do go for more time unlike me. Happy Travels :)!!

We’ve been to Vegas and the Grand Canyon several times, but still haven’t experienced the Helicopter Tour. Must make a point of doing this next trip! ๐
Prerna Sinha says
Hiking in the Grand Canyan is what I am looking at next time, but this helicopter tour was perfect for people like me who don’t stay in US and have little time on hand and want to do more :). Being at the Canyon was like a childhood dream come true.

Thanks Indrani :).

So exciting! The helicopter to Grand Canyon and the show will top my list of items ever happen to visit Vegas.
Prerna Sinha says
You must try and combine it, it just adds to your trip. If you have more time try hiking in the Canyon as it will give you more time to explore it. Avoid summer as the temperature gets crazy.

Wow! Didn’t actually know there was so much more to do in Vegas other than just pubbing and gambling ;). I am sure the helicopter must have been fantastic :D.
Haha! When you say Singapore, I guess you mean Marina Bay Sands, right? ๐ I did try my luck there and ended up losing 20 SGD and then decided to call it a day :P. The ‘Dine in the Sky’ and ‘Ride at the Stratosphere’ I guess take the cake after the Canyon ride. Guess you should visit it the next time and let us know more about your experiences :).
Prerna Sinha says
Yes, Marina bay sands in Singapore is where I can spend my entire night and I actually do after putting my kids to sleep. I will let you know once I manage to complete all the other experiences.

OK, LV was always on our list but unfortunately, our trip to the Sin City always got postponed because of one or the other reason. Being in the East is actually disheartening because we don’t have much to see here except New York and Florida. Maybe someday we will get to experience all this mentioned in this blog post.
Prerna Sinha says
Sure, dear. This Las Vegas is for everyone.
