Amazing Travel Experiences In Europe With Kids

A true-blue European vacation is on every family’s travel radar. The catch, however, is finding destinations that are well-suited for your children and make for a pleasant bonding experience for the entire clan. Even on our recent trip to Spain, we felt that the kids go bored in Madrid and too much sightseeing is not their cup of tea. So learning from experience, here is what I have come up with. In order to help you transform your itinerary into a kid-friendly marathon of fun and frolic, I’ve compiled a list of cities in Europe that both you and your little ones will thoroughly cherish.

Barcelona: Travel In Europe With Kids

For the wild and curious imagination of children, Barcelona is an utter delight. The Spanish city, most renowned for its art and architecture, is also the proud home of highlights like Park Güell, whose pathways, museums, cafes, and kid parks are just the place your children will want to be, and Las Ramblas, which has ample space for them to totter around and be themselves. You can pay a visit to The Chocolate Museum that features literal chocolate representations of monuments as well as some delicious souvenirs. There’s no way your child won’t thank you for that experience. And for the football fans, the FCB stadium tour is an experience that they will cherish. My kids freaked out. In fact, we even managed to catch the match with Messi playing and that they loved.

London: Travel In Europe With Kids

Ah! The fantastical abode that birthed the likes of Paddington Bear, Peter Pan, Mary Poppins, and of course, Harry Potter. The city of London is every child’s dream come true. From posing with their favorite stars at Madame Tussaud’s to watching the pelicans being fed at 2:30 PM, time-traveling in the Museum of London to taking the world’s first underground train, every experience will be one that they will forever hold close to their hearts. You can take them to see Greenwich Mean Time Museum and explain them the concept of time zones. Even I cherished that as much as my kids.

Amsterdam: Travel In Europe With Kids

Before you object, it’s worth noting that Amsterdam has more to offer than the parts the media and movies tend to shine the most light on. With cobbled paths that lead to bike-friendly alleyways and museums that enlighten kids with varied interests, the capital of Netherlands deserves to be on the bucket list for your European vacation with kids. You can hop from the historically momentous Anne Frank Museum to the world-class Van Gogh Museum, after which you can take an amble down Dam Square and spend some quality time together. But my kid’s favourite was Ripley’s Believe It Not museum.

Paris: Travel In Europe With Kids

When in Europe with kids, there’s no way you are going to miss out on giving them the chance to smell freshly-baked bread at the boulangeries and catch glimpses of the Eiffel Tower, no matter which part of the city you are in. Take the Louvre off your mind for this trip and swing by the ravishing parks instead. If your young ones are avid thrill-seekers, they will be enchanted by the climb to the top of Sacre Coeur, a Roman Catholic Church that offers la Magnifique views of the whole city. There is also Disneyland, so definitely plan a day there with them to cool off all the boredom that may be developing due to multiple museum visits.
