Kids are non-malicious and genuine to the core, so if you ever want a truthful opinion, ask a kid.

They see black for black and white for white, then interpret it in their own way  and express.

Sometimes these expressions are way too cute and sometimes they get you rolling on the floor.

Simple Logic

One day Ahaan, my little four year old, saw me finishing a packet of chips, “Mumma, I want chips”. “Baby, chips are over”. He thought for a split second, “Mumma, I want over!”

Pragati shares, how her daughter Kuhoo, asked her if Harbhajan Singh was named so, because he sang ‘bhajans'(spiritual songs) all the time. And then on another occasion she asked whether a female mouse is called a  ‘mausi’ (literal translation, maternal aunt in Hindi).

We are matter-of-fact

This mother, was talking to her toddler. “Baby, what is papa doing?”. “Papa, is in office”. “What is baby doing?”. “Baby is playing “. “What is mumma doing?”. No reply, he was busy playing with play dough, the mother asked again and yet no reply. Now the mom lost her cool and raised her voice ,”What is Mummaaa doing??” . He looks at her with an arched brow ,” Mumma is shouting!”

Marry me?

This kid, was getting too attached to her nanny and every evening when she would leave he would start crying. “Mumma, why doesn’t she stay with us?”. “Baby, she goes to her house . Everyone sleeps in their own house”. “Mumma, if I marry her, will this become her house?”. The mother was laughing in amusement, while he thought for a while and said, “No, I am too small, we  will get daddy married to her”. Mom more amused says ,” Baby then what will happen to mumma?”. “Mumma, don’t worry, I will marry you”.

We learn from what we observe

This friend who is a working mom, was having a hard time trying to juggle family and work. She would come back from work and most of the times she would be working on her laptop. The kid who would be waiting for her the whole day, and when he would try to approach her, she would tell him “Hey, mom is working, can we do this a little later?” One day when she returned from home she saw him and his friends engrossed in their play. He did not come and greet her or even look at her. She waited, then finished her chores. Finally when it was getting late she went to tell his friend that play time was over and he needed to go home. Instantly, he replied, “Mom, please don’t disturb us, we are working”. Yes, she got her karma back.

Honest Opinion

Once a mom and her kid were going down in a lift. There was this really fat guy with a big belly. He kept looking at him and when the man got out, his first comment was “Mom, this uncle is so fat!” and even before the mom could chide him, he touched his mom’s chest  “And you are fat here”. Awkward!

We always look at solving a problem with a  simple solution

Rita, mother of two boys, told her younger child to write A to Z, as homework. After a while, when she came back to check on him. He had written ‘A 2 Z’ on a plain sheet . Imagine her plight!

These were some funny anecdotes from mine and my friend’s lives. Hope you enjoyed reading them. We all have such funny and memorable moments.  Do not forget to comment with some of yours :)!!

Nice post. It’s true, kids sometimes say the most adorable things. When my nephew was small, my mom in law was scolding him for biting her. Immediately he said “Dadi, why don’t u scold papa? He was biting mom last night”. It was so embarrassing for his parents :p
