HOMEMAKER …..HA…SHE HAS IT EASY
How many times have u met that old friend, who is running a successful business or is the Senior manager/partner in a multinational? And after all “how are you?” kind of exchanges, the unavoidable lingering question sticks out whch u have been trying to avoid. So, I am a homemaker, so? You have to remind yourself each time ur answering to that, convincing yourself first!
Lady, don’t fool yourself you want to be in her shoes….and her designer dress, carry her designer bag and if your husband can afford all that for you, then you just want her freedom , independence, confidence….blah, blah!
On the other hand, your friend is feeling, poor lady, she used to be so bright in B-school. Marriage and children happened to her, she guesses! But secretely, she envies you. You have a lovely home, children, and a fun life, she believes. While she is slogging her ass off, you have it easy! Kind of a paradox isn’t it?
Which brings me back to the topic, does a homemaker really have it easy? Is it a mundane routine she is following and is her life dull? I can hear a lot of women going BOOO! As I even mention it! Women were born such multitaskers that only they and please mark my words only they can run a home!!
For the non-believers, let me lay down the list of tasks at hand. Now, this topic being very close to my heart iI have loads of thoughts to share, so have decided to discuss one task a day. Please feel free to add to it and make it a debate;Food for thought or for the stomach?Well if it wasn’t for our mothers and us, putting food in our thoughts and putting it in action, we would all be ordering dabbas!  So thank God for all the HMs for giving us gorgeous food through years and making no sound about it. On the financial side, ordering from outside even a ‘dabba'(packed meal) without getting down to numbers is far more expensive than cooking a home meal. Then imagine if you get  food poisoning or even suffer from a bad stomach owing to additives like color, too much oil and soda in the outside food. So medical expenses to follow in that case. This reminds me of the episode my bro-in-law, who used to live next doors to us and used to order in almost everyday. Finally, he had to be admitted to the hospital as he complained of severe stomach ache. He had to suffer for his unhealthy lifestyle. So to put in perspective, food requires preparation, sourcing, planning and execution. No less than any strategy, no less than any project you might be handling in your office.
