Q switch laser technology - Is it the answer to all our skin problems?

Recently,I was invited to attend an advanced laser technology training workshop ,held at the Orchid hotel in Mumbai on 19th January.Women after the age of 35,undergo a lot of hormonal changes which affect their skin and body.Some

common occurrences are sagging skin,advent of wrinkles,dry and dull skin,pigmentation etc.So when I heard that this workshop was about using a new Q switch technology to correct these problems.

A little about the company,Coherent Medical Systems, a pioneer in the distribution of aesthetic devices ,believes that the new technology can work on

pigmentation, Rejuvenation – Laser Toning, Melasma and Skin Tightening by Q-switch Lasers like Medlite/Revlite and Viora’s unique radio frequency RF technology.

The panel of experts who spoke were Dr Abnoel Bakus,Practicing Clinical Dermatologist & Co-Director of Clinical Research, Chicago, USA, Mr. Michael Byers – Clinical Specialist Cynosure, USA and Dr. Inna Belenky

Clinical Manager Viora,from Israel shared their experiences on the use of latest technology for skin toning, pigmentation, tattoo removal, skin tightening, body and face contouring, removal of stretch marks, fine lines, wrinkle reduction and cellulite reduction.

She explained with before and after results pictures of her clients ,how Q switch laser technology not only works on the dermis(outer skin layer) but also on the hyperdermis to achieve more effective results.

Dr Abnoel ,later performed some demonstrations on existing and new patients and we were able to see mild improvements in them instantaneously.The patients were treated for severe pigmentation,melasma and anti ageing.The doctor explained, to see complete or best effect in patient the treatment has to be done a minimum of 6 times and then maybe some more sessions as per the results achieved.

It was interesting to see live demo with actual patients where you see actual results.In the patient above you can see a mild clearing of skin and a little radiance.Both these pics were clicked by me in the exact same light and have posted them without any effect.I also checked with the patient on if the lasers were painful,to which she replied that she had mild pinching sensation.

Here’s hoping this comes as a breakthrough for women like me,who are seeking for quick,easy and effective solutions to their skin problems.
