The lungs of Mumbai…. Aarey has been to us and our young ones nothing less than an environmental Genie!!! Nature trails, yogathons, nature drawing competitions, photothons, cycling and trekking adventures, the wildlife safari and our very own Chota Kashmir!!!
We as kids have been fortunate enough to experience these and live them in our memories forever….. And our kids deserve this lifetime privilege too!!
Let’s save this green treasure before its lost forever……!!! –
Can it look any better? |
We did a small project with some kids and asked them to imagine a world without trees,what they came up with was an eye opener;
From the eyes of Riya Mehta,11 year old.She can see herself yearning for a pure breath in a few years from now.Wondering why the earlier generation did not care for trees.
While Trisha Mehta who is 9 years,can visualise,the Mother Earth crying when the trees are being cut and the adverse effects of it like increase in pollution due to this.
Tamanna Parikh,11 years has a question! |
This is How Tamanna sees the earth after 50 years! |
When these young kids can envision a dire future without trees, then why as adults are we calling it Progress? This is not progress but regress!
Aren’t we already living in a concrete jungle?These trees in Aarey bring the natural,green relief in our lives and we are not even aware how blessed we are.
We believe that our young green lovers need to be made aware of what Aarey means to their furture and should be given the chance to save it!!
However, given the current redevelopment scenario, this little haven in the heart of Mumbai may not be there for much longer. While we are at no point in time contesting redevelopment but the time has come to measure ‘redevelopment at what cost’ and how…..Not at the expense of our kids furture…….We need to educate our kids and fast!!
Come join the cause before it’s too late!If not for yourself,then for your kids.
