In my Northern lights adventure trip,Kiruna was a two night stay. With us(my friends and me),arriving late at night on the first night. So practically,we were there for one and a half days only. The camp(only in name) is very close to the airport and took us only 20 minutes to reach there.

We had booked chalets ,which come with a heated bath, toilet, kitchenette (well equipped with utensils, tea bags, sugar, and dish washing gel/bar).Also within the chalet there is separate smaller room which has bunk beds ,perfect for kids. You can sleep them there and have your privacy. The chalet is nice and warm.It also has a round table and four chairs for small families to eat together.Since I was travelling with friends ,it became our hangout.

The reception is a 5 min walking distance. The main reception is a bright and warm area, which a faux fireplace ,gift and souvenir shop. Here you can also book and rent gear for  various activities like skiing, snow mobiling and husky tours.
Restaurant:The breakfast is included in your room rent and is a decent lay of cold cut meats, salads, fruits, yogurts, cheese, bread and cereals. The dining area shuts by 11.30 pm and you have to place your last order by 11 pm.It also has a well stocked bar.

Dinner cost around 800/900 Kr,which is very expensive.I would suggest to try restaurants in Kiruna town. They are some nice and more reasonable options there.

One of the attractions for this hotel is their spa. When you go in, you’re given a wooden sauna bucket with a selection of products (scrubs, oils, etc), a towel and a list of instructions on how to use them and the facilities.Since we had very little time on our hands, we couldn’t try this ,but I have heard good reviews on it.Also this is a DIY kind of a spa,so if you’re looking for a massage ,you are mistaken.

Amenities:Other amenities include Spa,Play area for the kids, though this is usually covered in snow.

The town is also just a few minutes away. It’s amazing to see such a small and well equipped town.It had restaurants, public library,a small mall, shopping and everything you need and more. When I travelled,Christmas spirit was in the air and the whole town was decorated like it was waiting for  Santa to arrive .

Location:It is just outside the city which is about a 15-20 minute walk.Airport too is just about a 20 minute car ride away.

Hey,it was a dream come true for me too.The place is just fab and the experience is worth it.I was lucky to see the phenomenon on my short trip, but the learning is to go for a longer time and when the temperature drops below -25 at least to see it in its full glory!
