The Sukosol Hotel, Bangkok- Comfort And Luxury

Travel Diary· Hotel Review

My first visit to Bangkok was when my younger one was just 1.5 years old. Bangkok is in spirit like any other Indian city in its looks but the shopping is amazing. Even though we had such a small kid with us, we never felt tired or drained out because the people there just love kids. They offer to play with them while you get a massage or even babysit them while you are having food at a restaurant.

While In Bangkok, you have many options of hotels to choose from. I stayed at The Sukosol Hotel, Bangkok and here is a review of the same.

Location:

While in Bangkok, I stayed at the Sukosol Hotel which is within a 10-minute drive from Pratunam Market and offers free private parking on site. Many other Bangkok attractions are within close proximity to the  Baiyoke Tower II, Pantip Plaza, the Victory Monument and Platinum Fashion Mall. The Sukosol hotel is just 30 minutes from the Bangkok Airport. Based in central Bangkok the hotel is located opposite the Airport Rail Link and BTS Skytrain Phaya Thai stations which makes the connectivity to anywhere easy. Bangkok traffic during peak hours is crazy so using the metro is a good idea.

Rooms At The Sukosol Hotel Bangkok

The room I stayed in had a flat-screen TV, coffee maker, refrigerator and a private bathroom with bathrobes. It offered beautiful city views.

Restaurants

The Sukosol Hotel boasts convenient dining options, including Italian, Asian and Thai cuisines at Patummat Restaurant and Chinese food at Lin-Fa Chinese Restaurant.

LIN-FA CHINESE RESTAURANT

The decor reminds you of a museum and here you can get authentic Cantonese cuisine.

SAPPHIRE BAR

Here you can experiment with some exotic cocktails, some tapas while listening to music. Good choice to hand around in the evenings.

PATUMMAT

This is an all-day dining restaurant that serves Thai, Western and Asian cuisines.

Banquets And Meeting Rooms

It’s largest banquet, Kamolthip Ballroom can accommodate up to 800 people for a sit-down dinner and 1,000 people for a cocktail reception. The hotel has 10 function rooms can accommodate 20-260 people.

Club room

Fitness

The hotel has a large well-equipped gym and a yoga, aerobics room.

Spa

It has the Lotus spa, as well as an outdoor pool, a Jacuzzi and a sauna.

 Service

The hotel provides free Wi-Fi, body treatments and a beauty centre. The staff can speak in multiple languages and is polite. The service is a bit slow though when we checked in our luggage took a long time to reach the room even though we were coordinating with the bell desk for it. They do offer an express check-in-facility.

Verdict

Overall, it is a really large hotel with large rooms, multiple wings and offers all amenities. Location is decent too as it is well-connected to the main attractions and the airport. Also, the room rates are pretty reasonable so it’s complete value for money.

I am loving the decor of the hotel – simple yet very classy. And that pool – it is the perfect way to beat the heat.
