5 Reasons, Why I Don’t Endorse Halloween!

Last year I had written about how Halloween as a festival had reached India and how we are celebrating it, even without understanding.

I also talked about the incident when this really cute kid, did a ‘puja’ for Halloween. She was an innocent kid, but that’s pretty much our understanding of the festival.

I don’t endorse or celebrate this festival and I have my reasons. You may choose to agree or disagree with me, but first hear me out;

Halloween is also known as , ’All Hallows’ Eve’, time in the liturgical year dedicated to remembering the dead, including saints (hallows), martyrs, and all the faithful departed believers. We have ‘Pitrapaksh’ in India with a similar concept. We do puja and rituals in a more quiet and subdued manner to pay respect to our ancestors. It’s just that I am saying our cultures and ideologies are different.
