Life Update January 2022 – We Have Tested Covid Positive

life update- we have tested covid positive

I don’t know when I last shared a personal life update here but here I am after avoiding and dodging Covid-19 for over two years it has finally caught up with me. So yes, life update. I have tested positive for covid and while I drafted this a few days back, one by one all my family has fallen prey to this virus.

This strain of virus is extremely virulent and is spreading like wildfire. Every day, I hear of 20-30 cases in my complex.

The only way it could have contacted me was during my recent travel to Delhi when I went to meet my parents. I haven’t stepped out ever since I came back from Delhi. I have been extremely careful till date, double masks, a lot of sanitisation but this strain of the virus in the third wave ie Omicron is very infectious. Fact, we don’t know where and when we will catch an infection but let’s discuss what you should do if you see symptoms.

* Isolate yourself even before you get a test report so that you don’t end up spreading it to the rest of your family. Especially, if you have kids or elderly at home, you need to be more careful.

* We all wore masks in the house till 5 days after we reached home, we even slept in different rooms till I did my RTPCR on the 4th of Jan and my result was negative.

* I did 2 Rapid Antigen Tests at home and 1 RTPCR and they were all negative before I got fever yesterday and did another RTPCR yesterday. When I spoke to the doctor today what he said was that the virus can take 2-14 days to incubate unlike the traditional 5-7 days. So wait and watch for the symptoms to show and best way to do is to isolate if you see any symptoms.

* Also, remember home tests may or may not be entirely deductive as this new strain also needs
🅣🅗🅡🅞🅐🅣 🅢🅦🅐🅑🅢 which the RTPCR does but RAT don’t have. So a positive on home test is definitely positive but a negative on RAT may not be deductive. But testing in advance may still get you negative results. I have shared many instances like mine on my stories yesterday where people have gone through exactly the same. Sharing this twitter hack in case you are using a home test.

I will try and keep you guys updated on my status on stories. Until then, guys stay safe💕 and do test when you see symptoms and isolate yourself.

When I shared my status and my stories online many people shared similar experiences where they kept testing negative? Did you also see the symptoms but kept testing negative for a long time?
