When my kid almost burgled a shop!

Every summer holidays we  visit my Mom in Delhi. This is a trend I follow, where every year we spend a month at my mom’s place. Last to last year too, we landed at the Delhi airport with an early morning flight. My cousin had come to pick us.
Since it was an early  morning flight we were all famished and decided to get some breakfast. We decided to explore my favourite ‘Bengali Sweets’ at the South Extension market. The restaurant was still opening up .
My kids were feeling hungry, so I gave them a pack of potato chips to share. The pack was over in five minutes and now he was eyeing my pack of potato chips. He said “Mumma,I want some more chips”.”Sweetie,it’s over”, I replied.
Very innocently he instantly replied, “Mumma,I want over!”. Now you know why he  is our favourite in-house entertainment centre.
Meanwhile, my cousin decided to indulge in some retail therapy and headed to a shoe shop. The shoe shop was filled with bright coloured shoes in the women’s section. Beautiful and bright Pink,Neon Blue,Green and Yellow bellies all displayed so well. My two year old was smitten. He started trying out all,one by one.
We let him dwell in his happiness so that he does not destroy our peace while we went on with our endeavour. Suddenly,I turned and could not find him. I gasped and looked around. I saw a frail little figure walking out of the shop and ran after him. Once he saw me he started running faster, thinking of this as a game. My heart skipped a beat, as I just managed to stop him before he reached the road.
Embedded in his jeans were three different colours of shoes, one from each pair. He had just decided to walk out with them and being his tiny and unsuspecting self, even the guard at the door had not noticed him.

Luckily, everyone including the shop’s manager  just had a good laugh over the whole episode and no charges were pressed.
My dad always humours, that my little one can ‘make your impossible, his possible’.
