While the world is celebrating International Yoga Day and sharing Yogi postures, videos, Yogic destinations amongst other things. We decided to cover an essential aspect which is less talked about . Yoga and Food compliment each other to produce and maintain physical, mental and spiritual transformation and if practiced regularly it can create wonders. It is scientifically proven that  20% exercise and 80% right diet works for achieving the correct fitness goals. Practicing Yoga asanas is one of the most beneficial regimes, but has to be complemented with the healthy food habits, an essential key to leading a Yogic Life
Yoga categorizes food into types  which are the following:
We  share with you recipes from Chef Chinu, ( Celebrity Chef of FOODFOOD) which according to her, will transform your bodies into a fitter you in no time when practiced with yoga. What I love about these recipes are that they are simple and extremely healthy. You don’t need to be an expert to figure that out.  As suggested by her they are going to be adapted in my diet routine for sure.

 Detox Juice:

Prep time: 5minutes

Serves: 1

It is fun and exciting to prepare home-made natural juices that are,  delicious and  incredibly healthy for your organism.

INGREDIENTS

1 chopped cucumber

2-3 celery stalks

1 chopped apple

1 lemon

1 chopped ginger

1/2bunch spinach

This juice contains vitamins A, B complex, C and E, as well as lutein, which promotes strong bones and can fight aging, so you get triple benefits in only one single drink.

METHOD:

To make detox juice put cucumber, celery stalk, apple, lemon, ginger, and spinach in a juicer and extract the juice. Pour it in a glass and serve it. Your detox juice is ready.

 Avocado Quinoa Salad

Prep time: 15-20 minutes

Serves: 2

With its slight bite, low-fat quinoa pairs well with creamy avocado for this side salad. It’s refreshing in the winter and stellar at a summer barbecue.

INGREDIENTS

1 cup Quinoa

2 cup water

2 chopped spring onions

1 chopped tomato

1 chopped avocado

1 lemon

Salt to taste

Pepper to pepper

½ lemon

METHOD:

To prepare Quinoa salad take a pan put quinoa and pour water and boil it. Now cut the avocado in half & add lemon juice on it. Put avocado inside the mixer make its paste by adding salt, pepper & mix it. Now add spring onions, tomatoes, salt & lemon juice to the quinoa and mix it well. Put avocado paste over it and serve. Honey Orange Muesli

Prep time: 25 minutes

Serves: 2

This recipe is a version of a natural breakfast food called ‘Birchermuesli’ which was developed by a Swiss nutritionist.

INGREDIENTS

1 cup rolled oats

1/3 cup sunflower seeds

1/3 cup pumpkin seeds

1/3 cup flax seeds

1/3 cup chopped almonds

1/3 cup raisins

1 tsp cinnamon powder

1/2cup orange juice

1 cup honey

2 tbsp orange zest

Garnish:

3-4 slices of orange

4-5 slices of apples

METHOD

To prepare honey Muesli take a bowl put rolled oats, sunflower seeds, pumpkin seeds, flax seeds, badam, raisins, cinnamon powder, orange juice, honey & orange zest and mix it properly. Now put these ingredients in an oven proof plate and put inside an oven heat it at 180 degrees for a span of 10-15 minutes. When ready serve it in a bowl with fruits.
