How to be romantic on Valentine Day with kids hanging to you like attachments !

valentines day
With all the Valentine Day imagery around you ,there is no surprise that the  stress of doing something romantic for your mate is getting to you. Gone are the days where you could just plan a romantic getaway surprise for your husband ,now you have a small, cute, little attachment(your little one). You can’t leave your baby and get away even for a few hours. But you do want the day to be special.Trust me it might be better to be at home than to visit some of the overcrowded restaurants/clubs on this day. Let’s explore how we can celebrate Valentine’s Day as a family and still keep the romance alive in your marriage.
Do fun crafts:Create these simple pockets out of paper to hold all the love.Everyone write what they like about the other person and places it in the pockets labeled with the person’s name.

Check this link  http://www.littlefamilyfun.com/2014/02/family-valentine-pockets.html, to get the tutorial on how to make these.

Bake Together: Involve your children in baking for Valentine’s Day. You can plan on making adorable heart-shaped cupcakes .Or you can bake the cupcakes and ask them to decorate these.

Get romantic with your partner: Celebrating  Valentine’s Day  at home doesn’t mean it has  to be all about the kids. Tuck your kids in early that night. If you have kept them busy through the day, the chances are they will sleep.

Get out that bottle of wine, just work on the lighting, play music and you can cook your favourite meal together, just catch up on each other.

Make him/her that DIY gift and make it special:
Money can’t buy happiness, and after a few years of marriage and dating,we tend to run short of ideas on what to gift our partners.So something we make or personalise will always be unique and special.Some ideas;

Create a treasure hunt and get him going.Leave clues everywhere, and at every clue you can keep a subtle reward . Of course, the final prize should we worth it. See how he will love it.

Invoke all his senses: Get innovative and pack each of these boxes with something sweet and something naughty. I leave this to you as you know your man the best.

Life with small children doesn’t have to be the end of Valentine’s Day celebrations — it just means making some adjustments :)!
