With beautiful Sahyadris serving as the background, the Mulshi river beaming in your face, there could have been no better setting for this resort which we discovered on our last visit to Jal Srushti resorts. I was excited to book this resort and share my feedback of yet another jewel. The hotel is, in fact, the first impression one gets of a destination therefore, it is important to set everything in a right direction beginning from the accommodation. I have to agree that the setting was panoramic but after Jal Srushti resorts our expectations were very high.

Located on a hillock, this resort promised a wonderful weekend getaway and wonderful it was.  We were all set to relax and unwind in the lap of nature. When on a holiday I like to take a deep breath of the mountain air or peer out of my room for panoramic views, meditate, relax or just sack with a book.

Looking forward to the same I headed to my room, the false waterfall, a small pond, a bridge connecting the main entrance to the path to my room, all kept me excited.

So where did it disappoint us?

Two things, we didn’t like the lighting in the room and the landscaping around it. Lighting makes a lot of difference and it made the room look a bit dingy to us. So we sat out on the balcony most of the times and the view from there was spectacular. There was no minibar and that meant all the food that we were carrying will go to waste.

What we liked?

We stayed in the Bougainvillea cottage. It had a nice large room with poster bed and a lovely balcony. There were no bathtubs and the bathroom was quite basic.

Service:

They managed well and were always trying to make sure we are comfortable and met all our needs. Things that bothered me was that the room service was very slow and they only served snacks in the room between 5-6 on a chargeable basis.

Location:

Was really perfect, with almost each cottage with a lovely view of the Mulshi dam. It takes 3 hours and 40 minutes from Mumbai and almost 1 hour 45 minutes from Pune to reach there.

Amenities:

Family room with billiards, fuse ball, carom and table tennis which is where we spent a lot of time. I wish they kept some board games and books too.

It had a well appointed swimming pool overlooking the mountains.

A kids Play area

The Spa looked decent and to our surprise, it had a 50% discount. While I went without any expectations, the therapist was outstanding and I have to give her 5 star ratings. I did an Aroma massage and scrub while my hubby went for Kerela massage. Both of us came out dreamy eyed which speaks for itself. There was a steam room and a shower area too. The only hitch, walls were not sound proof, so sometimes if people are chatting loudly it can hinder your experience.

Food:

Your meals are a part your package. We got decent buffet meals for all times. There was high tea also.

Cost:

The room cost us 12,000 for two adults and all our meals. For kids below 6 years it is free and for over 6-12, they charged us 1700 extra.

Activities that you can do there:

There is an emu farm and a small stable of horses. On a good day, you can do horse riding. There is an option of a bullock cart and there is also some area assigned for adventure sports but all seem to be shut when we went.

Overall, head there with the intention to sack and not with an agenda. This is a place to sack. We had high expectations after Jal Srushti so we felt a little letdown.
