Why Early Morning Exercise Is Good For Weight Loss

Although, there is no specific time to exercise and any time that suits your schedule, must be utilised to the fullest because some exercise is better than “no exercise”. However, early morning is still the best time if you are looking forward to shedding your extra weight and here are some reasons to justify what we are saying…

  1. More efficient fat burning

Weight Loss is healthy when you are shedding extra weight while gaining muscle mass. Early morning exercise is believed to burn more fat as some studies put forward an argument that more of your body’s stored fat is burnt when, the Glycogen levels in your body are low, that is early in the morning. So, after you get up, grab a water bottle and walk out of your home for a quick jog or swimming session or a gym workout for 30 to 40 minutes. Indulging in aerobics or cardio exercises, in morning is good for fat loss and ultimately, weight loss. After an overnight fast, there is less glucose available in your bloodstream, you are more likely to burn the extra fat, that is stored in your body.

  1. Kick starts your metabolism

Exercising in the morning helps you burn calories during the session as well as after the session. This is called as ” afterburn” effect. You can derive this benefit only by exercising in the morning and not in any other time of the day. The reason being, as soon as you wake up, the metabolism is at the lowest and slowly increases till late afternoon while at evening, metabolism declines. After a morning workout, the metabolism stays elevated for a period of time.

  1. Feel Good

Getting up early and sticking to your fitness commitments makes you feel more confident about yourself and gives you a sense of accomplishment. This, in turn, makes you feel happier and more energetic as well as productive, through the rest of the day. The hormone, Serotonin kicks in that makes you happy while the Melatonin {sleep hormone} is turned off.

  1. Makes you more aware of your food choices

When you exercise with a fresh brain, each morning and devote time and effort to your body, the chances are that you shall remain more conscious about your food choices, throughout the day and would not binge on high-calorie, fat-laden food to satisfy your hunger cravings.

  1. Helps you sleep better

Exercising in evening makes your brain and hormones active by increasing serotonin and decreasing melatonin. However, if you exercise in morning, studies show that you will be able to sleep better at the night. A good night’s sleep ensures that you do not have food cravings and eat wrong kinds of foods in your diet. Thus, this indirectly influences fat loss.
