Father’s Day Special Edition- Real People Share Some Funny Moments With Their Dads

Father's Day Special

You don’t have to wait anymore, here we have loaded some hilarious dad moments to make your day!

Fathers have always been stated to be the bread earner in families, while the mother stays back looking after the family and kids. Gone are those days. We are way too ahead of those stereotypical statements. We see the crowd of single parents, but we also get to experience fathers staying back looking after the family. Fathers are as essential for the child’s development as the mother. For a fact, we know that fathers bring out a more unique way of parenting the children that no one else can replicate.

Let’s sneak into the life of our fellow friends and laugh along with their ‘funny dad moments.’

Do you know we find most of the humorous household memes related to father? We cannot disagree over the truth that fathers are more sarcastic, humorous, and jovial with their kids.

For today’s Fathers Day Special Edition, we bring to you real-life stories from people’s personal experiences.

Hilarious Dad Moments.

Dhara Tolia

I have learned to be notorious and phlegmatic from my father. We always come with up the most hilarious outcomes to a boring day. While he was at work and I was at my college, we had a habit of calling each other in the evening and we stated that as an ‘Emergency Call’ where we debated who would call mom and ask her what is cooking for dinner. The moment we got to know the dinner is something boring or we didn’t like to eat, we used to have a long confidential conversation on what and where should we go and eat. After the end number of contention, we always ended up selecting the same place. He used to pick me up and we would go to our favourite Chaat centre. We would have our stomachs full and return home with the contented face. But since we both were afraid of mom’s scoldings,  we couldn’t bring ourselves to tell her that we are full already. As she served dinner, papa and I would share vacant glares. As soon as mom left the dining room, we would quarrel to drop the food from our plates to each other’s plate. The best part was, I would always win this ‘tug of war’ since my mom was sure that I am the innocent one and would never ditch ‘Ghar ka khana’. I would drop all my food into his plate and get up from the dining table with a victorious face as if I had won a battle of life and death. Whereas he had to eat thrice-

1) the spicy, yummy chaat outside

2) the ghar ka boring khana

3) and mom’s scoldings as the desserts. 😆

So we were on a staycation at Devlali, where we own a bungalow. There was a rumour amongst the society about a ghost in a white saree near the chimney. During those cold winter nights, my parents and I were returning home from a movie and it was late. Unlike Mumbai, the streets there are super silent at night. Our route to the bungalow passes through that chimney road, and my father had been teasing me by bringing up that story till home. As we reached,

Dad: ‘why don’t you go upstairs to your room ALONE, Shivani?’

He knew I was a scaredy-cat and wanted to terrify me while he was continuously giggling in his mind.

I pretended to be the hero and said ‘Of course, I don’t mind at all.’

So my parents climbed up first and got to their room. It was dark. Though I was spooked, I started climbing stairs while singing a song to calm my mind and with the light of my mobile torch I kept on thinking in the back of my mind that the first thing I would do as I reach the room is to turn right to the switchboard and switch on the lights.

Just as I entered the room safe and sound, as planned I turned right towards the switchboard, and out of nowhere I see a large pair of spooky eyes starring at me, mouth wide open with tongue hanging out. Flashing the torchlight on his face to make it more horrifying scared the bejesus out of me. In this moment of fight and flight, as a reflex, I screamed out of terror and punched my dad’s nose. Then he complained to mom, ‘see your daughter punched me’ and we all burst out laughing.

A few days later out of nowhere he opens my room door in the spooky slow-mo way and enters the room coerced in a white blank sheet, bending forward and walking towards me. I somehow caught this in a video. I Was so terrified at the first sight but then I was laughing so hard that he kept walking towards me and that scared me again thinking, is it really dad?

He loves pranking everyone in the family and hitting us with occasional Dad Jokes. He is sarcastic, hilarious, and childlike, but such a cutie. 😛

…as Shivani says, he is sarcastic, hilarious, and childlike.

Apparently, my story happens to be menacing. But my father’s entry gave it a hilarious twist. So one night at 2 a.m. I got a call from my best friend who was highly drunk at his fresher’s party in a pub, telling me to pick him up. He is my best friend and I couldn’t leave him there in his situation.

Here begins my ‘Khatron Ke Khiladi’ moment. I slept in my living room at night and here I had to perform a highly secretive task of sneaking out of the house of a joint family by stealthily picking up the car and the house keys from my dad’s room.

I felt like I was performing a bomb disposal operation while picking the car key from my dad.

I finally, sneaked out of the house walking on my toes, picked up my friend, and dropped him home.

Now was the time for ‘Khatron Ke Khiladi Season 2’ – Sneaking back into the house! I was terrified to even unlock the main door and enter. Took a deep breath and silently opened the door. At that very moment, my dad opened his room door which was just adjacent to the main door. Chills running down my spine while I saw him.

Dad: ‘where are you going?’

Me: without giving a single thought I said, ‘I just ate a banana and went out to throw its peel in the dustbin’ (the bin is just outside the main door)

Dad: ‘Ok. No problem.’

He locked the main door again, went to the washroom, and slept. That was such an innocent moment. I barely could believe that he was convinced about the banana peel at 3 a.m.

My Petrified moment turned into a hilarious one in just a fraction of seconds.

My all-time most hilarious dad moments has to be –

My dad knew all my friends for ages and still, when you talk about them or go to meet them, he will want to confirm and ask, ‘Who is this friend?’

He always wakes me up since the time he is up, ie 5 am in the morning and when finally, I am up after 3-4 hours of his nagging, I see him take his nap!

I tend to pull his leg a lot especially amidst the current harrowing times. My dad is never aware of the changes in his surroundings so quite a few times I prank him by turning on the shower knob so when he turns on the tap he gets all wet & screams my name. Additionally, he has been put on a strict diet & keeps dodging his way into the kitchen so whenever he is calmly seated I poke him. For instance, the other day his diet food was yet to be brought from the market & I saw it, so instead of mentioning that I said,” Oh his food not there no problem he will fast for a day … haha !” … His open mouth expression was priceless! 😯

We both are cricket fanatics. It was the day of the T20 Worldcup and the match was at its peak where India seemed to have almost lost it in the last over. But to everyone’s surprise, Hardik Pandya and Dhoni made it to the win. In that fraction of seconds of utter sheer excitement, I screamed with joy a few explicit abusive words as we teenagers use before our friends (not intending to offend anyone but out of excitement ).

I felt a strong curious glare that he was pouring onto me. Without facing him I left from there but caught sight of him bursting out into laughter.

But guess what? We never watch a match together since then.

My relationship with my father has always been very friendly. He has been both, a supporter and a mentor. I remember this memory vividly, where my father used to go out for work and come home late at night. While my mother tried making me sleep. Sometimes my mother used to sleep before me and I used to run out of my room. As soon as my father would return home, I start jumping up and down out of joy, exclaiming how mom had slept before me which meant we had all the time in the world to play. This later became a tradition where he would ask me to put my mother to sleep so we could play and till this day we laugh about the irony of it all! 😀

Back when I was in class 10, my mom wasn’t home and the lunch was on me and my dad. She instructed me over a call on how to cook the vegetable and ordered dad to cook the rotis. As a beginner, I could barely manage to shape them and the only work dad had to do was to cook them over the stove. I did my job, now it was dad’s turn. Initially, my dad had an astonished look over his face which somewhat meant ‘Oh my God! What to do now?’ After a long pause, his face turned to ‘Ok, let’s do this!’ and asked me to pass the tongs. We prepared ourselves to cook the rotis as if we were going for a war. He placed the roti on the pan and had to flip it, nervously, he held the roti so tight with those tongs that the roti tore. We shared a blank glare. That is when I realized he didn’t know how to cook a roti! I burst out into laughter and he joined me after a few minutes of embarrassment. Somehow we managed to cook edible rotis and that day we had half-burnt rotis with holes.

The purest form of love is between a father and a daughter. The alliance between them is so strong that hardly someone can break. The amalgamation of fun, laughter, anger, grief is insanely pure. I still remember the incidents with my father like making my braids and getting me ready for my school, cooking food for me, dressing me up. It is delightful when such memories strike back.

We laughed at some whimsical incidents by telling stories to people like, once we went shopping to purchase a gift for my sister-in-law and I had to purchase a perfume. In the mall, my father was like buy for yourself as well, but I  denied it. Somehow he convinced me and we bought two. The moment begins when we were at the billing station and the bill came out to be more than Rs.10,000.

Father: ‘how can a pair of clothes and these tiny bottles of perfume cost more than Rs.10,000?’

Me‘the tiny bottles of perfumes that you are holding cost Rs.4,999/- each.’

Father (with eyes wide open): ‘I thought they cost Rs.499/- each.’

We laughed the entire day and the jovial part was that they gifted us with small perfumes and two bags and a wallet along with those perfumes.

My dad loves to play cards and board games. During this pandemic, we organically developed a habit of playing cards. Me, dad, mom, and sister. We modified the rules to make it more interesting. The new rule was, who so ever loses the game had to treat all of us with some dessert the next day. Isn’t it tempting? We would all try our best to win and would enjoy all night whilst listening to music.

One such night while we were playing and dad was on the lead, he was in a very mischievous mood. In the overconfidence of the winning state, very candidly and subconsciously he confessed how he had cheated slyly in the previous game! All of us went gaga over this. My sister who hates cheating lectured him and alerted him on how she is going to be extra cautious and keep an eye on him. Also, he was penalised for getting donuts for all of us. Even though he was winning, he had to treat us all to pay for the previous game. It’s hilarious how his confession backfired on him. I’m glad we were making these memories! We laugh, cheat, treat each other and I never knew just the four of us could’ve had so much fun together. 😀

That’s how Rudra rolls with his Father.

We hope you had a good laugh :p. Do share with us some fun moments with your dad.

Fathers are good friends to their children nowadays. They prepare you for the world’s arduous situations. He is the backbone of every family, the one who would hold you when you fall, pull you back together, and teach you how to walk all over again. They are known for their rigidity when it comes to showing their love for the kids but they never stop while showering the love.
