KALA GHODA 2015-The kid’s edition!

Kala Ghoda Arts Festival 2015 – 16th Edition

Exposing children to many different experiences and situations helps to cultivate their emotional, mental, and physical health. Not to mention lots of educational concepts and skills. When thinking of fun things to do with young children, don’t exclude cultural activities. One such exposure I would recommend every mother, would be to explore the KalaGhoda festival with them, specially if you stay in Mumbai.
The vivacious Kala Ghoda festival enters into it’s 16th year.
The KGAF follows a specific theme every year, and this time the theme chosen for the fest is “SPARSH” (Touch).
This year, the festival is scheduled to begin on Feb 7th and end on Feb 15th,open to all from 10 am to 10 pm.The community based celebration that binds the city of Mumbai is held at the beautiful and historic precinct of Mumbai.Funds raised from the festival go towards the restoration and upkeep of the area. Several heritage buildings and institutions in the area have benefited from this. It has traditionally offered various programmes in Visual Art, Music, Theater Dance, Street Acts, Heritage Walks, Literature and Workshops for children as well as adults.

The visuals and the art displays on the street are for everyone.Take your kids to explore them and maybe they will catch on even though you may think they are too young .What I do with my kids is ask them after the entire tour what they liked the most in the display and why?

The detailed schedule is duly attached with this blog:

The other things that I would suggest parents is to take them for the Heritage walks/tours and expose them to the rich heritage of Mumbai.
