Make A Wish, Maybe Miracle Is Bored !

I was sipping my cuppa of chai and I suddenly remembered that my  husband’s 40th Birthday was just a month away. Now, I was super stressed. Not because he is turning 40 but because I didn’t know what to buy him. He loves books but has too many, he likes cars but  that I can’t afford. So I was really cracking up my brain as to what to do? Being a mommy blogger there are some mommy bloggers posts which I love to read. Shruti from Artsy Craftsy Mom is one of them. When I read recently that she had bought a Canon Camera for her—-  the idea just clicked, I can send him for a  small break away from Mumbai with his friends. While on the break he can also catch up on his fitness routine which he has been missing. He also loves gadgets and a new fitness band would be perfect. Yeah whether he actually  goes and runs after wearing it is going to be challenge but he is going to love the band for sure :).

I saw our common friend wearing the fitbit surge fitness  band when he came to our place for some chai. All our conversations shifted to his new acquisition. Men as we all know love gadgets! This time, I was all ears too! I wanted to know how good the gadget is and if my husband will really like it. Much to my delight, he got super excited and put the fitbit band in his next list of things to purchase. Being the conscientious person he is, he also kept toying with the idea for two days, before finally giving it up. I had managed to find something he will surely love as a birthday gift 🙂 and on doing some research I found that the band was available on Flipkart too. Check out this video on how Flipkart makes wishes come true

With the gift in place, it was time for the surprise party arrangement.

The D-Day arrived. Like a regular ‘birthday’ morning, the kids wished him and left for school. We also cut a small cake to bring in his birthday and like every other year I gave him a card and a shirt.

You know I don’t earn enough, right? I mean blogging is like pocket-money.

He didn’t seem too glad but managed a smile and a thank you. My plan was working. While leaving for work, he checked with me what the plan for the evening was?

Umm, we can go out with the kids. Maybe to a movie or a dinner?

” Cool “, he said and  dashed out of the house.

There was so much to be done! His gifts and the dress that I was supposed to wear for the special day was all kept at my friend’s place. Plus I had planned this with great  pain and had to be executed well. He was heading for his holiday the next day but his birthday also had to be special.

When hubby reached office, little did he know what surprise awaited him in the evening. A car was booked to pick him up. He doesn’t like driving much so ends up usually hiring a cab. Like everyday, hubby dear unaware of the plan sat in a cab. I had roped in his secretary to execute my plan. The driver handed him my handwritten note and a clue;

The cab will pick you and drop you to a secret destination. But to make it fun, you have to finish a game hunt. Small clues, small riddles all leading to small gifts and the final one will lead you to the destination and a reward.

The cabbie handed him the second note ,a route map and a crooked looking hat ;

I am shaped like an egg but you can walk on me ,

even run on me and I will not break.

Be quick, be smart

to solve this riddle put on your Hogwarts hat!

It is made of islands
And each island had its church;
Now we have many churches
As the islands have merged.

Candles are burned and wishes are made true

That was a small tip to love the clue

Tall Man of India is no one but Amitabh Bachchan and he stays in Juhu. So hubby and his friends realised that this party was somewhere on the Juhu beach. Anyway, I knew this would take a lot of time to we were standing there to receive him and take him to the party which was arranged on the beach front with a private set up done on a special request by a nearby five star hotel, with candlelights an beach beds and what tents and the works.

When he arrived he not only felt like a winner but being greeted by his other dear friends, he felt so special. I also gifted him a mail which mentioned his reservation to a resort near Mumbai, where he was to party with his guy friends. He was also gifted the fitbit surge band. After all, he had earned his reward. He was so touched by this whole gesture and was shocked that I had figured the band bit out. The party went on till the wee hours in the night and I was awarded by a special hug and peck on the cheek. Here’s to wishes coming true! #abharwishhogipoori.
