Imagine a lone kid playing with a tablet, what do you see? I see a child who is slowly becoming introverted and a loner. Since he is in his own world, he doesn’t feel the need to interact with others and slowly his social skills will go down. As a mom I have seen a trend of decline of traditional toys and outdoor play amongst kids and it’s been troubling.
I argue that without play, young people fail to acquire the social and emotional skills necessary for healthy psychological development and the rise of imagination.
