Group Of Children Running In Park

Imagine a lone kid playing with a tablet, what do you see? I see a child who is slowly becoming introverted and a loner. Since he is in his own world, he doesn’t feel the need to interact with others and slowly his social skills will go down. As a mom I have seen a trend of decline of traditional toys and outdoor play amongst kids and it’s been troubling.

I argue that without play, young people fail to acquire the social and emotional skills necessary for healthy psychological development and the rise of imagination. If you just noticed your kid playing with toys you would have seen them talking and cooking up stories in pretend play. Also when they play with their friends they learn to share, win and lose games, all this helps in developing social skills READ MORE

Prerna I so agree with you..these days kids are either glued to tv or some video game. I feel getting them enrolled in a physical sport is one of the doable solution.

I am seeing it very close Bushra, and I try very very hard for it to correct in my house. But it’s so difficult as they are born with these things around. When they are infants we try and teach them and engage them with tablets and when they grow up, we worry that they send too much time playing with it. As a new parent I have made these to, without realising the consequences inlayer life. Each of my blogpost comes from my own mistakes and learnings…hope to overcome those some day :).
