As a kid, if you had told me that one day writing would become my profession, I would have rolled my eyes in utter disbelief. I was still struggling to write my essays which were definitely narrative but far away from being expository, descriptive and persuasive. <#orangeflowerfestival2020>

The blog that started out to exercise those grey cells which were gathering dust once I had no more excel sheets to build or deadlines to chase. Yes, I picked up something I had avoided the formative years, writing.

As I kept writing, appreciation and acknowledgements kept flowing in. I continued passionately, there was so much to share with the world.

I started out as a lifestyle influencer, soon found out that I wanted to focus on parenting, even though I belonged to the garment industry( It was quite an offbeat journey).

Somewhere down the line I got very sound advice from someone I hold very close to my heart and consider as my mentor, Kiran Manral, to talk about fitness along with parenting as it was a part of my life.

I had started my running and yoga journey then but was basically a lazy person. As I started writing, I realised it made me more responsible to keep my fitness goals. So actually writing and posting about my fitness journey and encouragement from others got me more committed to it. I felt responsible to take every woman along in this journey.

3 years later, I was awarded best fitness blogger by IndiBlogger.

As my fitness journey continued, from a fitness enthusiast I became a yoga teacher at the age of 40, did many arduous treks in between(EBC and Kilimanjaro to name a few), ran my first full marathon at the age of 42. The journey was not only about pursuing fitness but also writing about it. Over the years, I completed my mat Pilate teacher training and Ashtanga Yoga RYT200 course as I wanted to write, practice and talk from an expert point of view. I also got many experts on board where I felt I needed their voice of reason.

Icing on the cake for me was winning the award for the best fitness and wellness blogger at the #Orangeflowerfestival2020 by Women’s Web.  The blog will complete 8 years of existence and I have been writing about fitness for only the last 5 years. Winning this has just strengthened my quest more.

My big moment! Winning the best fitness and wellness blogger at the #OrangeFlowerFestival2020

Just being amongst these amazing women was an enriching experience in itself. It was definitely my highlight for 2020.

This one here is special!

My winning the award shows age is no barrier to learn or #unlearn.

It shows body can achieve what the mind perceives.

It also shows when a woman puts her mind to something she is an unstoppable force.
