A lot of measures have been taken in this regard and it certainly helps a great deal. Let me not get to the technical part to explain what happens in recycling, because we all know it helps convert waste materials into reusable objects to prevent waste of potentially useful materials, reduce the consumption of fresh raw materials and of course prevent a whole lot of pollution.
Some countries have considered it a priority and made it a big success; But still there are a few more places on earth which need serious awareness on this matter.
