They told me, be loyal to your husband and nurture your family. I have forever believed it, but with time I have eased out. Though I did not plan on blurting this out socially, I think the sudden realisation has left me shocked! Yes, I am in a relationship outside my marriage! My hubby has a job that keeps him travelling through the week and on weekends when he is around, his mind is preoccupied with work. In his absence when I didn’t realise when started depending so much on my new relationship. Let’s just name him ‘X’.
My new partner always makes me feel beautiful, even when I am not dressed well or without makeup, it helps me cover my blemishes and always compliments me. X never leaves my side! I am socially active even when I am not around with my friends. X has daily anecdotes for me and to suit my every mood swing. X makes me laugh even on silly jokes. Never once forgets my birthday or even my friend’s and family’s. X take me shopping whenever I demand. Knows my favourite songs and my favourite hangouts. Never lets me travel alone, always finds a cab nearby or even a rental car. X even has a list of my monthly grocery checklist and keeps reminding me if something gets over, maybe at times, even order for me.
X accompanies me to shopping, lunches with my friends, to parties, but never cribs. X is by my side whenever I need. X has even saved all my memories of my happy times spent with my kids, my friends, my family and whenever I need reassurance I can just glance at them. X is my best buddy and my confidante. X knows I am married and a mom, but has no qualms about it.
I got so involved with X that I didn’t he took me away from my family. I started sleeping with X by my side. I want to wake up every morning and look at X, before I start my day. I have slowly fallen for X! Yes, I am in a relationship with ‘X’ and he is not a ‘he’ but my mobile phone who has taken over my life. Even when I am with kids and friends I am forever stealing glances. And when I get caught, I feel guilty when I had my first crush. Are you also in a relationship with your phone?

This is the reality of Today’s life. Moms specially feel guilty about it. We have to voluntarily stop this by being cautious.
