Itchy skin, fungal infection? All signs that your skin is breaking out with the arrivals of monsoons. Today, let’s talk about how to take care of your skin this monsoon. What threat does monsoon pose for your skin and how can you care for it?Let’s seek some expert advice. This is the third post on #MonsoonSpecial series running on the blog. If you want, you can check the previous two posts on nutrition and hair care tips to be followed during monsoons.

Skin Issues

The water that hit your face during monsoons makes the skin more sensitive and susceptible to various skin infections and allergies. The pollution and dirt stick to your skin which leads to skin acne and pimple formations.Humidity, dampness during monsoons increase oil secretion in the sebaceous glands, increasing chances of skin irritation and acne formations.

During monsoons, the skin often tends to get wet and dries off eventually. Because of these wet-dry phenomena, the skin tends to wither off quickly. This happens as the skin starts getting dehydrated more often. You can bid adieu to monsoon skin woes from below simple tips.

Skincare Tips

It is advisable to dab your skin with a tissue or a clean cotton cloth when your face gets wet in the rain. You should avoid waiting for it to dry off on its own.

Cleansing becomes an integral part of your skincare regimen to keep your skin glowing and radiant during monsoons.

Use a cleanser with water as the base. It works excellently well and absorbs smoothly on your skin.

You can use homemade packs to remove excessive oil and dirt that gets accumulated throughout the day. Check some DIY packs here

Aloe Vera works as a brilliant moisturiser on your dry cracked skin and helps to purify the blood. It comes with natural healing properties of anti-aging, sun tan and has anti-inflammatory properties that work on irritations induced skin during monsoon.

During rains, it’s advisable to go makeup free and apply a light moisturiser to keep your skin nourished.

Makeup triggers acne formation leads to dreadful acne on your face and body. So avoid heavy makeup. Anti-Imperfection Hydrating Care is a total transforming acne care product with a cutting edge moisturising formula that treats pimples and prevents new breakouts. It hydrates the skin from within leaving a soft and smooth finish to your skin and gives your healthier looking skin in seven days.Adding nutrients and antioxidants in your daily supplements are very vital. It’s important to keep your immunity intact to avoid falling prey of various flu disorders and water-borne diseases that generally rise during monsoons. Anti oxidants possess natural ingredients that help to fight against ageing and fine wrinkles.

A majority of us keep sunscreens at bay when it’s cloudy or pouring. It is a lesser known fact that the harmful UV rays are also present when it’s partly cloudy or pouring. Check for a water based sunscreen with a milder SPF during monsoon.

Look for ingredients like Retinol in your daily moisturiser as it comes with multi-function benefits for battling skin related issues like ageing and dull skin.
